Centralized music & video streaming solution ... - Frisco-Online

Hello everyone, I was looking for some inputs from folks who've been in the same boat. Really appreciate any insights. Thanks.

I have close to a thousand ripped movies and home videos saved in multiple external hard drives. I am looking to consolidate all files into a centralized storage (NAS with RAID array being an option) so that it could be accessed from all networked devices as well as stream to my HDTV. I don't have a Smart/Network Connected TV, so I need buy a blu-ray or some other device to accomplish that.

Currently, I have a ROKU box with PLEX on it which is working to some extent, but ROKU is kinda slow to navigate around and also when it comes to streaming. Plus, I like to be able to play DVDs or Blu-ray disks.

Some of the options that I've been thinking about - RAID NAS + Blu Ray or XBox or PS3 or Western Digital Live TV or Apple TV + XBMC, etc. I don't want to re-transcode all videos if possible and would like if the device would play blu-ray discs as well.

Looking forward to hearing your ideas and comments. Thanks in advance.
