Pocono Friday: Pernetti resigns, heroin bust and new president

Tim Pernetti has resigned as Rutgers athletic director, two days after the basketball coach he hired was dismissed for abusive behavior during practices ? actions that prompted nationwide outrage once a video went public.

A joint investigation between Pike and Wayne county district attorney offices, state police and Eastern Pike Regional Police has resulted in a bust of a heroin operation.

Nine months in office, Marcia Welsh talks about shaping a distinctive university, the challenges ahead, the charms of the Poconos, and the pleasures of tweeting.

Local ski areas are still open, thanks to the weather.

Don't believe people when they say there's nothing to do in the Poconos. Six area stages offer live entertainment.

Rock Out Cancer, a benefit for the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center, will rock the house to help area cancer patients.

In our Best Bets, the Dixie Gents return to the Deer Head Inn and BookHouse to host folk singer Adam Miller at the Eastern Monroe Public Library.
