Toyota regains global sales crown | The Times

Toyota?s recovery from multiple global recall crises and the domestic disaster of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami has resulted in the Japanese giant reclaiming its crown as the world?s bestselling carmaker.

Toyota confirmed today that it sold 9.75 million vehicles last year. That is 22 per cent more than in 2011 and allowed it to motor back past General Motors, which is best known in Britain for its Vauxhall marque.
